Alumni Weekend Set for October 6th
The 2012 New Paltz Swimming Varsity vs. Alumni meet will take place on Saturday,October 6th. Alumni introductions starting at 11:30am and the swim meet starting at 12:00 noon. Alums– I hope to see you all back at the event! I will follow up later in the summer with more details about the weekend.

In addition, on Sunday, September 16th, the department will be inducting Joanna Masterson (’06) into the New Paltz Athletics Hall of Fame. In 2006, Joanna became the 2nd New Paltz women’s swimmer to earn All-American status when she finished 3rd at the NCAA Championships in the 50 Freestyle, and 7th in the 100 Freestyle. At the SUNYAC Championships, Joanna won the 50 Freestyle twice (2005, 2006), 100 Freestyle three times (2004, 2005, 2006), and the 200 Freestyle twice (2005, 2006). She earned SUNYAC MVP Honors in 2005 and 2006 and was the recipient of the Grace Mowatt Award for four year achievement in 2006. She was honored by the department as the Carol Eckman award winner (MVP of the department) in 2005 and 2006.
